 C.R. (Bud) and Sally Pendergast opened the doors of a small mattress factory, The Sleep Shop, in 1960. Sally managed the store while Bud made mattresses with just two sewing machines and very limited supplies.
With a lot of hard work, long hours, and help from family and friends the business grew. In 1990 The Sleep Shop factory showroom moved to its present location and has become one of the most modern, state-of-the-art mattress factories in Wisconsin.
Now operated by their sons Dan and Tom, The Sleep Shop has stayed close to its family roots. Many of their workers are family members with some having been with them for over 30 years. Whether they're related or not, every member of The Sleep Shop team is part of the family.
